Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize

President Barack Obama

President Obama was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. There seemed to be difficulty in accepting the idea that the Nobel was given more for his aspirations rather than his achievements just nine months into his term. Commentators and politicians all over the map were denouncing the award as “absurd.”

President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in part for what the award’s organizers said was a “more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting.” President Obama was caught off guard saying “Well, this is not how I expected to wake up this morning,” during a Rose Garden speech.

The president didn’t demonstrate much enthusiasm on his way to the podium and when he was done speaking about how “the elimination of nuclear weapons may not be completed in my lifetime,” he turned without answering any questions.
