Tiger Woods said Friday Night on his website he is taking an indefinite leave from golf to try to save his marriage. Tiger stated on his website, “I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person”. Tiger and his wife, Elin, have been married five years and have a 2-year-old daughter and a 10-month-old son.

The announcement came two weeks after Woods crashed his SUV into a tree outside his Florida home, setting in motion a stunning downfall for the world’s No. 1 player who for 13 years rarely made news off the golf course. One woman who said she had a 31-month affair with Woods shared a voice mail that she said Woods left her two nights before his Nov. 27 accident.

In the statement Tiger stated:
“I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.

I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period. ”

What do you think about the news?

A Chicago man was charged Monday with conducting surveillance on potential targets in the Indian city of Mumbai before terrorist attacks in 2008 that killed 166 people. David Coleman Headley, 49, was charged in a 12-count criminal information with six counts of conspiracy to bomb public places in India, to murder and maim people in India and Denmark, to provide material support to foreign terrorist plots and another offenses.

According to the charges David attended terrorist training camps in Pakistan earlier in this decade operated by Lashkar e Taiba — a group that specializes in violent attacks on targets in India. Authorities say Mr. Headley made five trips to India in the months and years leading up to the attacks and took pictures.

Today President Barack Obama will unveil a new U.S. plan for winning the eight-year war in Afghanistan. There is expected to be a substantial troop increase, while also mapping out a path to bring America’s military involvement in Afghanistan to an end. President Obama has described Afghanistan as the war the United States cannot afford to lose. After months of deliberations, Mr. Obama is set to unveil his strategy for victory in a nationally-televised address at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

President Obama will outline the rough withdrawal plan in a speech to the nation, when he will also announce a rapid six-month deployment of 30,000 extra soldiers. He has also asked Nato allies to send up to 10,000 more combat troops.

The US currently has 68,000 troops in Afghanistan, with foreign forces overall totalling more than 100,000.

Military and police in the Philippines are searching for a southern governor and his militia after 21 people, including journalists, family and supporters of his political opponent were found dead. More bodies are expected to be uncovered. Authorities discovered the bodies of at least 30 people who had been kidnapped early today in the southern Philippines and called the incident politically motivated slaughter.

The victims, at least 13 of them women, reportedly included a dozen journalists as well as lawyers and a woman who had planned to file her husband’s nomination for elections next year.

The military says a militia loyal to the governor of Maguindanao province on the southern island of Mindanao is suspected of being behind the killings.

OnLive has demonstrated an iPhone app in which users are able to play against gamers on a PC or on the company’s MicroConsole. OnLive CEO Steve Perlman demonstrated his company’s game streaming service simultaneously on two iPhones.

“While we only showed a tech demo today, it was great to give people in the audience a chance to try out OnLive on an iPhone,” he said. “The large tiles that make up the OnLive user interface work perfectly on the iPhone touch screen, allowing easy access to all of the features of the OnLive game service.”

Perlman points out that what was shown was only a tech demo, and that OnLive’s games are “tuned” for TV and computers. But he suggests that mobile devices can become an avenue for the community and social elements of games streamed over the service.

OnLive is an ambitious gaming service that intends to offer the gaming equivalent of cloud computing. The service would allow gamers to utilize an inexpensive “thin client” at home to access a catalog of current games with high-end graphics needs.

Military officials say the Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 and wounding 29 in last week’s shooting rampage at his military post in Texas will face 13 charges of premeditated murder under the military’s legal system. Hasan is suspected of killing 12 soldiers and one civilian in last Thursday’s shooting spree at Fort Hood. He was shot and wounded by two police officers at the base, and remains in recovery at an Army hospital in San Antonio. His attorney says he was read the charges at the hospital.

On Tuesday, U.S. President Barack Obama paid tribute to the 13 victims during a memorial service at the base. He vowed that the “killer will be met with justice.” The president and first lady Michelle Obama also met privately with the wounded and families of the victims.

The officials said it is not yet decided whether to charge Hasan with a 14th count of murder related to the death of the unborn child of a pregnant shooting victim.

US travelers forced to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas in airport lounges will be able to send emails to their families for free, after Google declared it will sponsor free Wi-Fi at the nation’s airports. Google Tuesday said that it would provide the free Wi-Fi access through a partnership with Boingo Wireless.

The search monolith has made a “holiday gift” of free Wi-Fi access at 47 US airports from Thanksgiving through to New Year. Google will leverage the hapless travelers’ gratitude to spread even more joy, by presenting them with a screen when they log on, which offers them the opportunity to contribute to Engineers Without Borders, the One Economy Corporation or the Climate Savers Computing Initiative.

The Kansas City Chiefs released running back Larry Johnson on Monday morning, just as his two-week team suspension for conduct detrimental to the team came to an end. The Chiefs confirmed Monday that they had run out of patience with his off-the-field problems and released Johnson the day he was due to come back from his second suspension in a year. Johnson, who turns 30 on Nov. 19, was just 75 yards away from breaking Priest Holmes’ team rushing record.

The Chiefs were furious with Johnson for a series of actions, including mocking Coach Todd Haley’s lack of football playing experience on his Twitter account; using a gay slur on Twitter and again in the locker room when addressing a group of reporters; and, in the incident that most angered General Manager Scott Pioli, belittling a fan on Twitter by saying he made more money.

He ends his Chiefs career with 5,996 yards rushing and 55 touchdowns. He also caught 151 passes for 1,369 yards and six TDs.
